We have already seen Queen Lagertha and Ubbe defeat their new enemy in King Harald, Ivar and Hvitserk in the first battle, however, that was just a battle; that wasn’t the end of the war.
It seems as if team Ivar hasn’t given up, which is exactly what we expected. In addition, Hvitserk has stayed loyal to Ivar, even with his younger brother treating him like a dog more often than not.
Now it seems as if Ivar is ready for a rematch with Rollo’s men helping their cause, as Hvitserk’s idea to ask his uncle for help works.
However, this deal has one condition and it’s one Ivar has already attempted to betray. Rollo demands that if he is to help, Ivar’s warriors will have to spare his elder brother in Bjorn.
Even Harald agreed on this, yet I highly doubt Ivar will keep to his word and has already shown signs of betraying his uncle’s wishes.
In the previous episode, Ivar attempted to kill Bjorn like a coward during a peaceful talk where he wished to speak with his uncle. In doing so, Ivar betrayed the Vikings ways of conducting themselves.
Luckily, Harald was there are refused to allow this disgraceful act and Bjorn was saved. This was a disgusting act and it wasn’t long after Ivar agreed to the terms his uncle had laid out, which is quite concerning.
This to me indicates that Ivar couldn’t care less about his uncle’s wishes and as a result, we shouldn’t expect Bjorn to be spared if Ivar and Harald are to win.
However, if Ivar was to actually betray Rollo, I couldn’t see the brother of Ragnar Lothbrok sitting back and just accepting it.
The problem with Ivar is that he can’t be trusted and shows no respect for anyone, which is why I believe that he will betray Rollo in a heartbeat.
