Marvel has just released their second trailer previewing the intensely anticipated Avengers Infinity War film that is be released in cinemas on April 27 this year.
If Marvel fans were already hyped up to the maximum for this film, this trailer will accelerate that hype into overdrive.
Avengers Infinity War is beyond a doubt the most ambitious and anticipated film that the MCU have created during their 10 year lifetime so far, and will quite possibly be the biggest film of the year.
Their Black Panther, released late January has already smashed box office records, pleased critics and gained a cult following all within a month and a half of screen time around the world. The MCU are still quite happy riding the Black Panther hype machine, but should prepare themselves for the mass pop-cultural madness that’ll come once their next film is released.
Both of the Avengers infinity War trailers showcase the film as a hugely financed cinematic spectacle that has the potential to be unlike any superhero film we have seen before. Both trailers don’t reveal too much about the plot, other then the obvious synopsis of Thanos coming to Earth to steal an infinity stone, and that the story parallels the continuity of every Marvel Cinematic Universe film that has been released between 2016 to this year.
This film isn’t acting as a giant sequel to all these films. This film is completely it’s own and will redefine the entire Marvel franchise itself. With the epic action sequences accompanied with the stellar visual effects that have been teased, one could say that this film may be the best of this golden age of superhero films.
As trailers should be, trailer #2 doesn’t give away much about the actual story line or what the characters roles are in this film. This creates more suspense and anticipation for the film’s release as audiences really don’t know what to expect from Avengers Infinity War.
Unlike trailer #1, this second edition features more of the characters interacting with each other, and also shows more of the characters from Guardians of the Galaxy. We see a comedic interaction between Peter Parker, Tony Stark and Star Lord, and Steve Rogers and T’Challa working together just to name a few iconic moments.
The trailer puts emphasis on the Wakandan’s importance in the film as we see the characters from Black Panther previewed frequently, as well as T’Challa appearing to lead an army into a war that has potentially deadly consequences.
The question of whether we will have a major character death in the 3rd or 4th Avengers film is still up for speculation. However, Chris Evan’s interview with the Telegraph discusses his contract with the MCU only lasting until the 3rd Avengers film, which suggests that we may see the end of Captain America by the second part.
Nevertheless, Avengers Infinity War is looking to be a superhero film of unprecedented proportions and the MCU will once again, exceed the expectations of comic book fans and film critics alike.
