There has been a great deal of hype surrounding the Dragon Ball franchise in recent months, especially with the Dragon Ball Super anime coming to an end and the new Dragon Ball film being revealed.
The movie was said to be released at some point this year in 2017, with an official release date finally being confirmed by Yonkou Productions on Twitter this week.
The official release date for the 20th Dragon Ball Z movie was revealed along with the first poster of the upcoming movie and it has confirmed that we will be seeing the movie hit our screens on the 14th of December, 2018.
The movie is set to explain the origins of the Saiyan’s, as well as the Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan God and quite possibly the Legendary Super Saiyan from Universe 7 as well.
Dragon Ball’s creator in Akira Toriyama has already confirmed that the first Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan God is the same person, however, the Legendary Super Saiyan is someone else.
Considering it’s believed that the two lived at the same time, we could be seeing both in the upcoming movie. It would make sense as the first Super Saiyan God in Yamoshi was killed trying to fight off the evil Saiyans.
Considering that the Super Saiyan God form was able to match the God of Destruction Beerus when Goku accessed its powers, then we should assume that someone quite powerful stopped Yamoshi.
It might be the Legendary Super Saiyan, however, that is only speculation at this time. What we do know is that the film is coming this year and it will answer all the questions that Dragon Ball Super fans have been wondering for the past few years about the Saiyan race.
Hopefully, after the release of the film, we will also get a hint of the Dragon Ball animated series returning at some point as well.
