Assassins Creed Movie Only A Fortnight Away

Its been ten years since the original Assassins Creed game first came out.

It showed us the story of Desmond Miles, as he entered the animus searching through his ancestor’s memories for pieces of Eden.

The franchise has developed an enormous fandom. It was always likely a movie would also be equally as successful, but how did we get to this movie? Let me quickly remind you of what fans have gone through so far.

The story starts off as an endless war stretching over centuries between the Assassins and the Templars, but as we travel through time we begin to see there is a lot more to this story, an ancient past with Gods pulling all the strings.

But let’s not give away too much, as we first began the story through the eyes of the twelfth-century master Assassin Altair Lbn-La’Ahad in Jerusalem, before being whisked away 200 years later to Italy, where we learned the story of the legendary Assassin Ezio Auditore da Frirenze.

Then after four games, it was time to move away from Altair and Ezio to another famous Assassin predecessor of Desmond, Connor Kenway, an American Indian from the 18th century.

After Desmond’s death, Abstergo still needed to travel back in time through Desmond’s ancestry through Edward Kenway, a pirate during the 18th century and grandfather of Connor.

We traveled back to America for the Templar Shay Cormac, with the Frenchman Arno Dorian’s story being next in line.

Jacob and Evie Frye sibling Assassins from England were the latest installments to the story in 2015, with us fans being left high and dry of a game since that point.

But where is this move based? Is it just a remake of the storyline going back to Altair? Well, apparently not.

The new movie, which is set to premiere on the very first day of 2017, will be based off the video game and be set in the same universe.

However, the movie starring Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard, will be set in Spain during the 15th century, a completely different place to where we have seen in any game before.

Therefore I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a link from this movie, leading into the next game also likely to come out later in 2017.

We will follow the story through the memories of Callum Lynch, as he discovers he is a descendant from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins.

Through the memories of his ancestor Aguilar, he gains incredible knowledge and skill in order fight off the powerful hold of the Templars of not only the past but also the present day.

That is all we are going to release here, from this point you are going to just have to wait until the new year to watch this thriller yourself.

If you are an Assassins Creed fan then this movie is a must watch, so make sure to pay attention carefully as I assume there will be a major connection to the game, and something will hopefully be revealed about those clones, which we know little about. Also if we are lucky; the goddess Juno, and her connections to not only the Assassins but also the Templars, as we discovered at the end of Syndicate.
