Sword Art Online Volume One Review

Okay, so I was going throw away some of my boxes after moving houses and I found some old books, amongst them I then discoveres the 1st two volumes of the Sword Art Online’s light novels.

From there I decided instead of sorting the rest my stuff, I’d re-read the 1st book and I actually enjoyed it.

I mean S.A.O. still is alright at best, and it’s a phenomenon up there with the likes of  Attack  On Titan, Tokyo Ghoul and all the edgy shows that parents allow their underage kids watch.

So just in case you have been living under a rock for the past few years, in the anime commuinity Sword Art Online, is a story about Kirito who is trapped in the V.R.M.M.O.R.P.G. Sword Art Online.

In here if they die in the game, they die in the real the world too, and the only way out is to beat the game to do that you have to get to the 100th floor of a giant floating tower known as Aincard, which ends up with over 4000 people dying within one year.

So I read the book and comparing it to the anime, to where it ended up being a nice short read and if you have watched the anime, it’s a very good adaptation of the books.

However, the book dose only cover the story from the first episode to about episode 8-14, where they explain some of the game mechanics,  such as the Skill Tree and the Experience Gage but I still have no idea what the value of a Cole is!!!!

Another good thing about just reading the first book is there’s only one main girl in Ausuna, and make no mention of the others, which I’m alright with.

At the end of the day S.A.O. is just a stupid-fun read, and hey it’s about video games and V.R. so its has to be somewhat good.

I give this book a 57/100

Oh and 16.5 isn’t in this book, which is the biggest letdown i say…..
