With the ending of the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series all those years ago gave an amazing conclusion which many fans loved but left disappointed many as it gave end to one of the most popular series in Yu-Gi-Oh franchise. Over the years we have seen some cool seasons but they have become more and more ridiculous overall and changed quite a bit to the original. And while it’s not bad to evolve a franchise, it has left a whole in fans hearts where Yugi and his friends were.
Yugi Muto and most of the old cast have finally returned in a new sequel film, Yu-Gi-OH!: The Dark Side of Dimensions. The movie is set half a year after the ending the animated series with a new villain that that’s from Yugi’s class, named Aigami. With the new villain and this film continuing on from the main storyline helps not only flesh out characters more but also tie up loose ends for characters such as Seto Kaiba and give more backstory for Bakura. It also gives an amazing conclusion to Yugi’s story for the climatic ending of the film.
This film is nearly always on the go and hardly lets down its impressiveness of action and fighting sequences for a movie that’s over 2hrs long. It presents great storytelling with smooth pace as well as at intense scenes which the audience can handle but also be in awe while watching. The slowing down or removal of the speeches in duels help out very much which helped out the action sequences and allowing more scenes and variety for the movie.
