One of the biggest anime debuts in recent years, One Punch man hit our screens with a bang and is already one of the most talked about series out there.
But why was the first season so good? Well it gave us a new main character that we have never seen before, a hero without extraordinary hair or the need to train (too much) in order to defeat an enemy.
But that’s not all, the main character Saitama is already said to be the strongest fictional character in existence, with many fans believing that he could easily take down Goku from Dragon Ball and DC’s Superman.
However, the most remarkable part is that he is tipped to do it with only one punch, which is exactly how he has defeated each and every enemy he has come across.
This series is not only epic but has a range of hilarious characters, including Saitama himself, with his various facial expressions going from epic to ridiculous in a matter of seconds.
Season 1 introduced us to the hero association, explaining the danger levels and each hero’s rank. We have met a variety of strong chracters in Saitama, Genos, Sonic, Puripuri Prisoner, Atomic Samurai, Bang and Tatsumaki.
However, it’s the the main character the we have fallen in love with, a fool who wants to be a hero along with his pupil Genos (the Yamcha of One Punch Man).
Along the way in season one, we got to see Saitama easily defeat each and every strong villain with one punch however, every fight was still equally epic as it was hilarious; despite the quick victories.
It’s no wonder fans alike are eagerly waiting for season 2, which is only a few short months away. Until then I suggest going back and re-watching season one, as it truly was equally as fun the second time, just as it was the first.
Also it’s now finally available for purchase on DVD and Blu-ray through Madman, in both English and Japanese, meaning you can own it!
