Ubisoft has confirmed a new Assassin’s Creed game a couple of days ago during a briefing and that it might be announced at E3 this year with what the company has posted with an email showing an image to stay tuned but it looks like there’s already some leaks of what this Assassin’s Creed game could be.
The rumored titled to be given for this new game is Assassin’s Creed: Origins as there has been an off-screen image that is said to be the first look at this game. There was a leak from a Reddit forum, an image taken of the game that is said to be a demo at E3 which is said to be an ancient Egyptian environment setting.
Apparently other leaks for the game have been confirmed as well surprisingly such as the return of naval combat like from previous games Black Flag and that the team that worked on Black Flag is also working on this new game.
From Reddit to 4chan, someone from the site released a picture a few months ago is a real screenshot and was leaked on purpose! Of course there has been updates to the environment and the actual proper character has been placed in to be tweaked but at least we have an idea of what rest of the world and characters look like.
There’s also been a few changes to the game-play which strays from what we’ve known Assassin’s Creed to be. Sync points like towers or buildings have been thrown out the window and from what leaks show, players will be getting an eagle guide instead to fill in the map for you. The bird will be able to fly around anywhere to fill in the map, although there is a certain amount of distance the eagle can be away the player from, meaning you can’t just get the new map straight away.
Apart from that players will also be able to put on their hood or leave it off, which is a big deal being able to casually switch between them as previous games only allowed you to have the hood on or had it down for the game, you had no choice. Something that most fans will love that is returning is the famous hidden blade or at least some sort of version of it. At least it’s coming back to us.
The only other parts from the leaks and rumors to come about are the combat system and apparent release date. The fighting system has been revamped from what it seems and is too be more reaction based and open running like the two previous games, Syndicate and Unity. There is less spamming of one button and enemies have become better AI’s and will work smarter. The stealth has also been changed with more social stealth similar to Watch Dogs and its sequel.
Lastly, Origins is meant to release this year before Christmas time around the months of October or November but it seems a bit too early to release a game that people have hardly seen or know about. Everyone will have to wait and see what Ubisoft does at their E3 conference next month.
