Unsuspectingly Nintendo has come out with an announcement that they are releasing a new member to the 3DS family this year in 2017, the New Nintendo 2DS XL. Out of nowhere Nintendo has released a video of the new handheld console, on their YouTube gaming channel.
Even with the fantastic release of their newest console/handheld hybrid in March, the Switch, Nintendo has decided to come out with another new gadget for us quite soon. Now this isn’t to compete or rival with the Switch but to help out in the handheld field, with updates to Nintendo’s old 2D handheld, the Nintendo 2DS will let people play without 3D and also at a cheaper price. The new 2DS is to help out with many different kinds of gamers, especially entry level.
Nintendo release the New 3DS around 2014/2015, which was a hardware update to the old 3DS where the New 3DS had upgraded and increased RAM, a new analog pointing stick, additional triggers on the shoulders and also the important built-in NFC. This meant that people that wanted an update their 2DS system for such things, couldn’t if they didn’t want to have the 3D and the extra money to pay for it. Therefore, this is definitely a welcome addition.
Now this machine is set to release on the 28th of July with the price of $149 US and Europe though for Australia it will be $200 and the UK for $133. The system will come with the New Nintendo 2DS XL, the stylus, 4GB microSDHC memory card, 6 AR Cards, Operations Manual and a AC adapter.
