Bakemono No Ko Review

Bakemono No Ko Review Bakemono No Ko Review

Today I started a movie called Bakemono no Ko or the Boy and the Beast. It’s a story about Ren (or Kyuuta), a boy that accidentally goes to the world of beasts and he decides to become the disciple of a beast called Kumatetsu, in order to become stronger.

When Ren became 17 years old, he decided to return to the human world and there he meets Kanae, a girl that adores studying.

At this point, Ren is not sure if he’s a human or a beast. He has trouble fitting in, but I won’t say what happens next because I don’t want to spoil the movie for you.

The movie is quite long. It is 119 minutes aka 2 hours, so if you want to watch it, you have to have some free time.

For me, Bakemono no Ko was a moving movie about manliness and strength. It has action, philosophy and some hints of romance. This movie can be enjoyed by both genders, but I recommend it to adolescent males more. After all, we all have a bit of Ren inside us.

  1. Literally, one of the greatest anime films I’ve ever seen. I loved the animation and story, as well as the humour. Was emotionally invested throughout the whole film. I would recommend both anime and non-anime fans to watch it.
