The sequel to one of the recent First-Person Shooters in the last few years has had an interesting trailer, Destiny 2 has been announced!
Bungie had previously revealed the game via a tweet although only showing us an official image a few days ago but nothing else to go with it, not even some text in the post as well as a teaser trailer. At last they have presented us with something after all these rumors and speculation on what was to come next for the Destiny universe and story. Especially after all the DLC and expansion packs last year and this year including Rise of the Iron, Vault of Glass and the final DLC, Age of Triumph, we can’t wait to get our hands on the next installment.
The trailer, titled “Rally the Troops”, what we got got from the blurb of text was “Humanity’s last safe city has fallen to an overwhelming invasion force led by Ghaul, the imposing commander of the brutal Red Legion. He has stripped the city’s Guardians of their power, and forced the survivors to flee. You will venture to mysterious, unexplored worlds of our solar system to discover an arsenal of weapons and devastating new combat abilities. To defeat the Red Legion and confront Ghaul, you must reunite humanity’s scattered heroes, stand together, and fight back to reclaim our home.” You can watch the trailer linked below.
Although there isn’t much more confirmed official details from the company, there has been a leak and a few strong rumours surrounding the 2 teasers Bungie has announced recently. So far the release date for the game is September 8th, the price has yet to be confirmed but it might be the same as the first Destiny as well as the version with special editions.
What else that is new that will get a few people off their seats is that the sequel has a high chance of coming to PC which is amazing since the original Destiny with DLC was only on consoles. This was claimed and backed up by a NeoGAF user and Kotaku. There are wishes that it would be made for Nintendo’s latest platform, the Switch but it is distant wish that is unlikely to happen.
That’s not the only hopes and dreams to come about. Quite a few people hope for a bit more elements and expansion for the next entry into the series. For one, an understandable story that’s told and isn’t brief or short. The game was a little fun going around planet to planet that was broken up with predictable levels. We should be given a coherent story that helps solidifies the universe as the previous game’s story was rewritten during development. The single player was very short and it would be so much better if the main campaign had more to it than an underwhelming adventure to it.
That’s what we know and hear so far for now on the game with its teasers and leaks as well as what we want. We don’t have that long to go before it’s released September is close than you think. Hopefully Bungie shows more later on in the middle of the year as well as at E3.
