In 2013 Attack on Titan aired for the first time and was enormously successful with fans desperate for the second season to be released, as season one revealed so little yet contained so much.
Finally at the end of 2016 it was announced that season two will be hitting our screens this year, and this week Funimation revealed that April 1st will be the official release date.
Also yes, April 1st is known worldwide as a day of pranks and fun, resulting in some fans being sceptical of this being all a practical joke, however Comicbook.com have promised us that this is not the case.
But now with almost four years of delays and two heavily criticised movies, are people still interested?
I have asked the question in some Attack on Titan and anime forums, so with the information I have gathered from there, what I have noticed is many fans have fallen off the series ban wagon.
It looks as if the constant delays have caused enough disappointment for fans to forget and so, have moved onto other series.
But I’m sure that abandoning the series will be only temporary, with many fans still eager to see the next instalment of Attack on Titan, and with enough peer pressure coming from them, I expect that some of the former fans who have abandoned the project, be reunited with Eren Jaeger sooner or later.
For those who are excited still, Crunchyroll have indicated that season two will focus more on Eren, and his crusades to eliminate the Titans that threaten humanity, with speculation of new unknown Titans to come.
As we head closer to April there will be more released for now though, Attack on Titan fans should be getting excited and should re-watch season one in the coming months, as season two is finally here.
