So the other day I discovered that Sword Art Online is ironically getting a V.R Gaming experience TODAY! And so I thought to myself, this is what V.R. technology needs to make the system more mainstream.
Now with Sword Art Online, V.R. technology may be picked up by more anime fans and so may even get the price down on all that expensive gear, that throughout my childhood and especially after watching Tron, I always wanted.
Since then I have dreamt of being able to go into a computer world, well without the bad stuff that happens in S.A.O, except now there is an S.A.O game coming out on V.R. so I assume the bad stuff will happen for the storyline just virtually……. I hope.
I haven’t had a lot of experiences with the V.R. headsets yet but from what I have played, I did notice that you do get immersed in it, so much so that the first time I used one during the demo releases, they tried to take the controllers away from me (probably because I wan’t giving anyone else a turn) so with the head set still on, I accidentally whacked the stall guy in the face with the hard plastic remote….. my bad.
Now that S.A.O. has turned into a V.R. experience, I do doubt that we will have all the abilities the anime shows us, such as being able to lie down and have your entire body immobilised, whilst your brain dose all the work.
So the game will finally be out on the 31st of January (TODAY!) but its only available on FOVE, so not PS4, Luckey’s Rift or HTC’s Vive.
Also sadly for now it’s only available in Japan and Korea but hopefully we will get the game released in the western side of the world soon too.
Oh also there is no way that there isn’t going to be any lag in this game like there is in the anime, 10,000 people on one server in one day at the same time, is the most unrealistic part of the entire anime series.
