Last May, Agent Carter fans were left shattered after it was announced that the series had been canceled, leaving the show on a huge cliff-hanger at the end of the season, which we may never get the answers to.
The show had been struggling for some months as Marvel fans loved the series however, there wasn’t enough of them tuning in to watch it.
As a result the decision was made to axe the show staring Captain Americas best girl, Howard Stark, Edwin Jarvis and the rest of the SSR team.
Fans thought that this would be the end of the series but we have received a glimmer of hope, as in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly about the upcoming Netflix series The Defenders, Marvel head of TV Jeph Loeb sates that it was never Marvel’s intention to cancel the show.
As reported by Syfy Wire, Loeb went on to put the blame on the ABC, stating that it was entirely their decision to cancel the series.
So as a result it was the ABC who lost faith in the struggling series and not Marvel’s, who could still see the value of Agent Carter.
Therefore, there is a chance that the series may return in the future, as Marvel hasn’t given up on the show.
It is unlikely that it will ever air on the ABC again, but with so many other television networks and streaming services worldwide, there may be another opportunity for Agent Carter to make a return.
So there you have it. It was the ABC’s decision to axe the series and not that of Marvel’s, so there is a chance that if Marvel still see the value of the show, which they seem to, then its possible it may return somewhere else.
