Could Kawaki Be A Samurai?

Could Kawaki Be A Samurai? Could Kawaki Be A Samurai?

So with the next generation of the Naruto franchise slowly coming, there has been a lot of talk about what has happened to Naruto and where did Boruto get his Byakugan from, since the release of some famous manga clips showing the destruction of Konoha.

As we know these events take place in a time significantly into the future, and we have no real knowledge on any of these topics, just our theories.

One thing we also have no knowledge of is the heritage of Kawaki, the villain shown in the manga slides.

So one thing which has barely been spoken about is where did he come from? Well we all just assumed that he is from Konoha, as that seems to be where most of the villains we see in Naruto originate though, I don’t think so.

As we can clearly see Kawaki has no visible forehead protector, and to me that means he is not hidden village shinobi.

We have to remember the forehead protector of a village is a pretty important symbol to a ninja; even the Akusuki still wore them despite abandoning their respected villages, though the symbols were slashed.

Also I’d like to add that it is highly unlikely that Kawaki is from one of the five great shinobi nations, as there is finally peace brought between them, so why would anyone be unhappy about that?

We also have to remember that the Samurai are respected warriors in their own right, and there is very little known about them as they came in pretty late into the storyline.

Most people don’t know this but Naruto was apparently meant to be Samurai instead of Ninjas therefore, it is likely Masashi Kishimoto may want to have more Samurai influences in the next generation.

Remember the Samurai were always considered neutral, as they strongly felt they had no place in getting involved in Ninja activities.

However, they did end up getting involved during the fourth great shinobi war, and as a result has many casualties, which may cause hatred towards the shinobi world.

It is possible that Kawaki had a family member lost in this battle, and may also feel as if that Samurai should never have assisted the shinobi, even though this was a world matter.

Look at the image above, it looks as if the Samurai with no helmet has similar tattoos to Kawaki, its possible that tattoos act as symbols like the Ninja forehead protectors, as the only other Samurai not wearing a helmet is Mifune and like the Kage, he may not need to wear a symbol.

If Kawaki was affected by the war like this, he could feel resentment against the shinobi world, and with Konoha literally being the reasons the war happened (Obito and Madara are from Konoha) then that may act as the motive for his attack on the village, as assisting in the war went against Samurai beliefs.

It is also possible that Kawaki can simply not be wearing his head protector, similar to Sasuke and Orochimaru when they departed Konoha.

Kawaki may also be from another smaller village kept out of the big five nations, which peace may not have been brought to yet.

Places like the Hidden Rain, Grass, Sound and Waterfall all may still wish to be as respected as the 5 great nations, and so may attack.

Remember in previous wars they were affected the most as they had the least resources, we must also take into account that there are 31 villages outside of the five great nations, it is likely that at least one of these still feel resentment against the big five.

Though, I still strongly believe that Kawaki may in fact be a Samurai, as if he was fighting for his villages honour, then he would be wearing his forehead protector with pride.

Therefore, he is no longer affiliated with a hidden village or he was never apart of one in the first place, so attacking the village which caused the mass amount of casualties the Samurai had in the last war, makes a lot of sense.

Especially considering many Samurai felt that the long neutral county shouldn’t have been involved in the war in the fireplace and therefore, this is an incredibly strong motive, because as we know people in Naruto hold grudges fro a very long time, and the grudge is passed down from generation to generation.
