The Seven Swordsmen Of the Mist, Who Was The Strongest?

The Seven Swordsmen Of the Mist, Who Was The Strongest? The Seven Swordsmen Of the Mist, Who Was The Strongest?

The Seven Swordsmen of the Mist is a notorious group of ninja known for their immeasurable strength and ability. As the little says there is always only seven of them at one time, and when one dies another replaces them instantly.

The organisation, which contains all of these S-ranked swordsmen from Kirigakure, started off as protectors of the village, before abusing their powers, and abandoning the village, which then also led to committing unspeakable crimes.

As I mentioned, these guys were incredibly powerful and so became known worldwide, but which one was the strongest of the lot? Here I have devised a list of weakest to strongest, of the known Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist.

12.  Raiga Kurosuki

Former member of the hidden Mists Anbu and member of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, this guy didn’t show us much when he was introduced in Naruto part 1.

However, he was one of only three members of the swordsmen to survive the attack of Might Dai, who released all eight inner gates to save his son, Ebisu and Genma Shiranui.

Yes this may point to him being strong, but we also have to remember from the short time we did see him, he didn’t look mentally stable and as a result made bad decisions, also he was ultimately defeated by a bunch on Gein level ninja too.

11. Suigetsu Hozuki

Imprisoned by Orochimaru and set free by Sasuke to help him find Itachi, later he would briefly join the Akatsuki due to being a follower of Sasuke. When he first came into the scene we see him as incredibly dangerous, with the ability to completely liquidise himself.

He was personally trained by Zabuza just like his brother, and then even threatens to kill Sasuke but obviously that never happens, and after helping hunt down Itachi he sadly became pretty useless; especially during the fourth great ninja war, despite him being a jounin level ninja.

10. Jinin Akebino

One of the members  to be killed by Might Dai, was later sealed away during the fourth great ninja war when he was reincarnated. His abilities didn’t look to be as dangerous as the others though, he still caused many casualties.

His sword, which was more axe like, is said to be capable of breaking through any defence, along with his speed this made him incredibly dangerous.

9. Kushimaru Kuriarare

Renowned for committing acts of cruelty, his blade was incredibly dangerous, it allowed him to kill stealthy and as a result he became an incredible silent killer.

His overall strength wasn’t anything to be feared; however his speed and cunning was something of legend. The former Anbu’s sword was capable of piercing multiple ninja at once and stitching them together.

Kushimaru was one of the members to be killed by Might Dai but he was apart of the strongest generation of legendary swordsmen.

8. Mangetsu Hozuki

The brother of Suigetsu was called the Second Coming of the Demon, just like his brother he has incredible abilities and was trained by Zabuza.

Sadly he died at an early age but in his short time was still renowned for his acts of cruelty and his skills. He like some of the others, was reincarnated during the fourth war and was sealed as a result after causing many deaths.

Due to his early passing he never lived up to the potential that he was said to have, but from what we did see he was incredibly dangerous.

7. Juzo Biwa

One of only three to escape the attack of Might Dai, he would later become a missing-nin of the hidden mist. Later on Juzo would be recruited by the Akatsuki and would be teamed up with Uchiha Itachi.

We didn’t see much of Juzo apart from his battle with the fourth Mizukage, to which he was killed. Juzo was also not one of the members to be reincarnated and so was considered weaker than Zabuza, who wielded the same blade, as both could not use it at the same time, Juzo was overlooked.

But for him to be a member of the Akatsuki, as well as the seven swordsmen and a survivor of Dai’s eight inner gates, its obvious he was no ordinary ninja.

6. Jinpachi Munashi

Another member who committed many acts of cruelty, even killing his older brother. Jinpachi didn’t get along well with others and was known for killing many of his fellow ninja swordsmen teammates too.

His swords explosive abilities cause many casualties during the fourth great war when he was reincarnated however, it was known to usually harm his teammates as well.

5. Ameyuri Ringo

The only known female member of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen, was mentioned to have been a prodigy.

Unfortunately however, she was struck down at an early age due to an incurable disease.

But before her death she was known for her incredible strength with her Kiba, a double blade capable of forcing an incredible amount of lighting release.

4. Fuguki Suikazan

One of the few to survive Might Dai’s attack and was later killed by his student Kisame.

Fuguki’s strength was shown when he fought off countless shinobi despite not having his sword when he was reanimated during the fourth Great War.

Also we must note that he was able to satisfy Samehada (his sword), which as we know means ,he had an incredibly large chakara reserve.

3. Zabuza Momochi

Zabuza was titled the Demon of the Hidden Mist and his personality demonstrated that perfectly, well until his friend Haku died that is.

Zabuza was incredibly strong and was reanimated during the fourth ninja war as a result, and was one of the most dangerous members once he was reborn.  Zabuza also would have killed Kakashi in Naruto part one, if Naruto and Sasuke didn’t interfere that is.

The former member of the Mists Anbu, had great skills in water release, knew how to avoid the Sharingans basic abilities and was physically very strong, which he showed by wielding his incredibly large blade, Kubikiriboncho.

2. Chojuro

The last of Kirigakure’s Seven Swordsmen to remain loyal to the village, didn’t show too much during the fourth great war and if he was only judged by those efforts, he wouldn’t be anywhere near second.

This shy individual took no pleasure in killing, unlike his other swordsmen members who loved fighting and committed acts of cruelty.

He did however defeat Black Zetsu during the war and guarded the area in which he was in charge of, with his life.

Suigetsu even went to the point of calling him the master swordsmen; he would later on in life become the sixth Mizukage, the only member of the swordsmen to reach that title, proving his strength.

 1. Kisame Hoshigaki

A member of the Akatsuki and teammate of Itachi, Kisame was feared as the monster of the Hidden Mist.

The S-ranked ninja was shown to have the similar chakara levels of a tailed beast, who easily killed his former master.

His strengths and skills were incredible and combined with his blade which stole other shinobi’s chakara, he was one of the most dangerous characters in the series.

Shown to even be able to kill his teammates and fellow villagers without being fased, Kisame was more shark then human.

Later in life he was defeated by Might Guy who had to use seven of his eight inner gates to do so. Kisame would then kill himself in order to keep the secrets of his organization a secret, despite his cruelty he was respected.

So that wraps up the list of the greatest of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, from weakest to strongest. Do you agree with the order? Please let us know in the comments below.

  1. I do not agree about Suigetsu. He wasn’t useless after Sasuke killed Itachi. He was a great help in the fight against Bee. He almost sacrified himself to protect his team and he literally soaked a direct hit from Bee’s a tailed beast bomb the second strongest beast. He did get a bad match with Darui who is VERY powerful almost Kage level if you ask since he’s defeated the gold and silver brothers from Kumogakure who were wielding powerful aterfacts. But I think he deserve a higher rank in the list.

    • The problem is we don’t know how he was captured by Orochimaru, the others seem to be in a legendary status while as for Suigetsu, he isn’t ver well known. He does have a lot of potential though but I just don’t think he did enough to end up higher on the list.

  2. Mangetsu was known to have been the only swordsmen capable of wielding all seven of the swords. Sadly we don’t know much about him, but if he was capable of doing that, I’d think he’d probably be number 1. He’d be a very varied fighter, capable of short and long range fighting, as well as employing techniques such as the use of explosions as well as lightning (natural lightning). Combine that with his clan techniques, he would have been an absolute force to reckon with.
